This lil guy was happy to pose for me on a recent trip to Banff, Alberta. Magpies are all over Alberta, but I haven’t seen a single one in Ontario. I think they’re a lot prettier than most pigeons, but that beauty seems to have gone to their heads. When I lived in Edmonton I’d regularly see magpies bully and fight with pigeons.
Thought of you at my Book Club today. We read Isaac’s Storm and spoke indepth about hurricanes and other major weather events. A gal in the know mentioned that some storms of sufficient magnitude will bring birds as far as different continents! Could be how this little cutie would up your way. Great post and photo.
