Sometimes Architecture is full of curves and angles and swooshes and sweeps. Other times, like here, it’s stark, cold straight stripes and squares on concrete.

Underground History

The TTC is old. Relatively Speaking. Peel back the layers of tile and brick and you can see the feats of 20th century force, full of girders and nuts and bolts, like this shot of the ceiling of the St. Patrick TTC Platform.

Curved buildings like this always remind me of waves on the ocean, towering and mighty right before smashing into the coastline.

Architecture is appreciating art for giants. I’ve always felt like the architects behind even every day buildings should be appreciated. I like to call buildings like this Mixed Media pieces, because they use a variety of contrasting forms and materials throughout.

Iridescence

Even though I’ve called Toronto home for years, and have been photographing it for even longer, it’s still full of interesting surprises when I wander off from my usual routine. This incredibly iridescent building is fittingly not far from the AGO and even on dreary days still pops with lively colours.
